2011 was not a banner year for NOR. We have seen our pool of Inactive Officers grow to unwieldly proportions while our regular membership continues to diminish. Inactivity on virtually all fronts dogs us, with those Officers that are active fighting apathy and in danger of being overwhelmed or succumbing to despair.
We regained some lost ground with a few critical changes late in the year. The first of which was the addition of Lord Dalgrin of EQ2 to the High Council.
NOR finally abandoned "mIRC" - the 26 year old software the High Council used to conduct its meetings in. We have moved all voice and text communication to Teamspeak 3, which has proven to be more reliable, user friendly and of higher quality. Moreover, now that the High Council meetings are being held on the same client as the guild VOIP, the HC members and the meeting are in full plain view of all the members and are readily accessible.
Talks began over the formation of a non-profit organization.
NOR has a lot on her plate for 2012. The World Record, new website, new forums, a centralized roster system, the non-profit, not to mention our 20th anniversary and the Bash, currently slated to occur in Orlando Florida sometime in December of 2012.
We let go of the wheel there for a while, but we've recovered and are back on course. With former members returning all the time and new members incoming, the HC has every confidence we will see our rolls rise.
