05.14.2013 Nightmare Mode Eternity Vault

Another great night of raiding in the books. After rounding out our group with Hanak from Saberwing, and snagging Joker and Dav to fill in our missing dps slots, we zoned in and proceeded to knock out the entire raid in under 1 hour. I think we actually finished Nightmare Mode faster than we have ever finished Hard Mode. A few good loot drops including the speeder, and some nice gear upgrades for Joker including everyone getting "The Infernal" as a new title.

Due to finishing EV so quickly, we decided to knock out the weekly for Golden Fury on Makeb. Hanak had to leave so we grabbed Tren't from TCL to fill the open slot. First attempt was a wipe due to not quite enough dps and the boss enraging. After changing our tactics slightly, we took him down no problem the second time. NOR strikes again with another sub 1 hour title run earning "The Unyielding" title for all involved. All bosses were taken down on the first try with minimal losses (1 death if I remember correctly). NOR continues to impress with the group coordination and overall skill even when grouping with 2 non-guild dps. Grats to all on another flawless run!

Story Mode Scum & Villainy - 21 May 2013

Another very productive night for NOR on multiple fronts. Ended up getting a slightly late start due to missing 1 dps, but definitely made up for it in the dps we did find. Planning on only being able to finish the first 3 bosses, we zoned in and proceeded to 1 shot the first 3 in under 1 hour! We pushed on from there into uncharted territory for the majority of our raid group. Everyone was on their "A" game and after an explanation, ended up downing the next boss on our first try. The fight was unique in that the raid was split up into 4 groups to infiltrate a city and eliminate 4 security teams spread around. After eliminating the teams, we had to fight the actual boss which posed little resistance to us. The next fight (5th boss out of 7 total) is my personal favorite in the zone, a puzzle boss with very interesting mechanics. After a fairly lengthy briefing, we began. The entire fights lasts close to 15 minutes, but NOR once again prevailed! A few trash mobs later, and we arrived at boss #6 on the night. Already getting close to midnight EST, we made a run at it. We got extremely close to beating the tight dps race, but in the end turned out as a wipe. After losing Dav to a DC for an extended period, we decided to call it a night and resume Thursday.

Congrats are in order for Malykk, who was promoted to the rank of knight during the raid!! Malykk has been a staple of our raid group makeup and definitely deserved the honor!

One last note from the night: We ended up having to P.U.G. a dps to round out our roster, and got Andrew from the Gray Jedi Order. He made it clear several times how much he was enjoying himself, and complementing our performance. He expressed interest in trying to get a guild alliance going to fill slots in both guilds raids. It's little things like this that show NOR's professionalism in game and willingness to help others. I can definitely say I am proud to be a NORbie!!

It's official! We defeated the final 2 bosses last night to cap off NOR's first guild clear of Scum and Villainy! After a slight roster tweak, extensive explanations, and some trial and error, we downed the final boss just under 2 hours after starting. Now that we have the mechanics down, a single night full clear of SV seems within grasp. Congrats to all!
