9-4-13 SM Explosive Conflict

NOR finally made the push into Explosive Conflict on the Empire side! We had a few people who either hadn't been in EC before or who just haven't been in for while, so we quickly went through the explanations of the boss fights and got to it! We had a clean run when we finally got to the deadly duo of FireBrand and StormCall. We wiped on the first try but not without a fight, we were able to down one of the tanks leaving the other with little heath left to spare! On the next go, we knew he had them this time. With another big push we were able to take both tanks down without a single death in the group! We went on through the rest of the Operation with ease.

Last night was a HUGE night for NOR on the SW:TOR branch. 2 16 player raids, and an 8 player HM T4 group running at the same time! The turnout was so high, we actually maxed out the TS server!! This shows the dedication and excitement that this branch has. I couldn't have been happier as the raid leader last night! A huge thank you to Saberwing for joining us in all the fun!

The T4 group made major progress Tuesday night, downing the first 3 bosses in one night. This was a first, and gave us a good shot at working toward defeating the final boss. After getting Kephess down to 3% twice in a row, the rust fell off and we downed him in an absolutely flawless run. Unfortunately our goal of clearing the operation stalled on the final boss. We are very close to having the mechanics down, and I have no doubt NOR will be 5/5 soon!

After calling it a night for the T4 op, we joined up with 8 of the players from the 16 man operation and decided to knock out "The Golden Unicorn" (Golden Fury). We breezed through it on SM on the first attempt, and decided to give HM a shot. Golden Fury is widely considered to be the toughest HM boss fight currently in game, but we weren't going to let that stop us. The first few attempts were good to gauge mechanics and make adjustments. After, we proceeded to down him with room to spare, completing a NOR first! We all earned the title "The Furious" and gained some sweet lewts.

I am insanely proud to be an officer in this branch, and last night proved how amazing the SW:TOR group in NOR really is.

Earlier in the week I had spoke to Hanak of Saberwing and we talked about doing more 16player OPs together. So they posted on their boards and were able to get 5 sign ups. Also we had a full group of 8 NOR wanting to come, (that is in addition to the 8 NOR in the Progression group)!!! Our Low tier group consisted of 1 fresh 50 and several pretty new raiders. Still shy 3 players to fill the 16mode, we called apon our hereos at TCL and managed to get 2 more! We had 15 total in the 16player mode.

Inorder to get the most out of the new group, we wanted to do a entry level raid, but get the most value out of it. So we chose Hardmode Eternity vault which rewarded some Ulitmate Coms!! Since we had so many new raiders, we covered the basics on how we focus fire, set up CC's and a few other techinques used during the NOR raids.

The first Boss went down without issue and it was a great way to start the OP. Then we went up against Gharj who is always a favorite. This would have been flawless if it wasnt for me being in command:p The world was shaking and he was down to the final 2% and as a good raid team should do they listened to me when i said, "Dont jump to the next island, Burn him down" which we did!!! but the island sinked anyway, lol. so we had some caulities after Ghary was dead...oops sorry guys /chuckle

puzzle boss went well and everyone did great there! the one on one fight was pretty cool, 16 battles goign on at once, and Hanak was able to take 2 of them on his own!! /gratz sir!

Then there was SOA, agian would have been a one shot but, my leadership was a bit rusty and i called the Shield bubble to soon and we all regrouped right on top of a huge AoE and wiped. After a quick regroup we defeated the stairs and downed SoA with ease!! Great work all, alot of great loot was passed out and i think everyone had a good time:)

After that, a combination of NOR and Saberwing lvl 55s, met up with the Progression team and we headed to Makeb looking for some more adventure!

Down several of our normal T4 raiders due to work obligations and patching issues, we decided to make it a training night. With Poxi respeccing to heals, we took Cam and Laria into TFB to learn our raiding basics and to get some comms/gear. The night went well overall, with minimal losses and only 1 wipe. Both new raiders seemed to enjoy themselves and will hopefully join us on future operations!! Congrats!

Low tier night we ran the T3 Op of Scum and Villainy. Hanak's wife Cielle from SaberWing tanked for us and Ryland was our secondary tank who learned quite abit from our Main Tank, it was his first time in SV as well as Runesires. We finished the puzzle boss on our 2nd attempt calling it a night right at 11:30est. All the bosses went down on the first try except the puzzle boss.
