Macrobinocular and Seeker Droid Quest Lines

Post by Riveni »

Is or has anyone worked on this quest line? I have solo'd about half of each so far and it has been a little challenging figuring out the puzzles - much like the Theoretika, for those that have done the HK-51 quest line, in that you have not hints on how to proceed or succeed (unless you google it, but where is the fun in that?). However, the last quest for each (last two for the Macrobinoculars) are [HEROIC 4], so wondering who will need and/or could assist with the completion of these quests? Those that haven't done them (or haven't gotten that far) could probably help too, but did not want to spoil the ending if they were to go back and do it for themselves.

I did the first macrobinocular quest line, for Coruscant. It did take some thinking and situational awareness to figure out the last step in the instanced room of the cantina.

I'm taking the expansion as a whole, pretty slow and easy, which does give me concerns about being left behind-- when I eventually get to this step, I'll be looking for a guild group, but will anyone be able to repeat the quest when it's time for me to do it for the first time?

If anyone else hasn't started these quest lines, just from the starting macrobinocular quest line, I'd say it looks like it's worth doing. As frustrated as I got trying to figure out the last step of the Coruscant intro mission, there was satisfaction in finally getting it.

I'll be happy to assist anyone just looking to start out, and as I progress, I'll be able to help with more.

Zyera and I Started the quest line, I'd be happy to jump in and help out. I find the idea of the Macrobinoculars and Seeker Droid quiet interesting and I'd be willing to give it a shot. :D

I've heard that it can be a pain, but it would be much fun if it was just a straight blow through. :thumb

So far, the Seeker Droid stuff has been outside searching for the seeds, much like searching for the parts for HK. However, once you have found the seed, your seeker can no longer look for one. Plus, it does not pop out of the ground like the HK part did for multiple people to pick up, so I am guessing each search is individual. That said, you may want at least one other looking with you or watching over your, because there are some champion opponents wandering the area(s) (had to kill one when looking for the seed on Taris)

For the Macrobinoculars, finding the relays is outside, so no issue with assistance here (and a partner would be helpful with at least one of the ambushes). The puzzles are all in instanced areas, and I would expect that, like other instances, as long as the person doing the quest goes first, others may follow and assist. None of the pieces of the puzzles have been an objective of the quest, so would expect they are interactable to all within the instance and not just the person doing the quest. That said, I have so far been able to solo everything up through Quesh. Be sure to have your companion out and you are off your speeder before you look through the Macrobinos... if you activate them from the back of your speeder, your companion will not be out if you get ambushed when you close the macrobinos (and at least one ambush is a champion opponent).

What kind of stuff can you get out of doing these quests?

The interesting thing about these quests is they open a whole new set of dailies on four different planets. Can vary the experience people have because they can do different things for the dailies and get a change of scenery on not get burned out from doing one or two area, like Black Hole and Section X, all the time.

Oh that's cool. I'm glad they're putting more of that kinda stuff in the game. Looks like I have more of a reason to finish those quests now. :D

And in the developer posts about these quest lines on Darth Hater, they give us reason to go back to the earlier planets. That could be a bit double-edged, as I've listened to people on general channel going, "Goodbye (planet name) and I NEVER want to see you again," or some such felgerkarb. But I think it's a good idea to have a little change-of-pace and find things back on Taris or Tatooine or Quesh. Most people hardly ever see any of Quesh and these quest lines could change all that.

Makes me think that maybe Quesh could have more behind it, instead of just a filler planet.
