Here's my story for Nima'ven and her brother Chee'ven.
Chee is Nima's older brother. They were very close. More like best friends than brother and sister. They lived in a small farming villiage outside Kala'din on Ryloth. Chee loved the holovids of the dashing hero types who would rush in, blasters blazing, save the girl and take out the bad guy and wanted to be an adventurer like them. (Think SWTOR's equivalent to Han Solo, Indiana Jones, Flash Gordon, Robin Hood, etc). The two of them would play together. Nima, the "princess" captured by the "Imperials", and Chee rushing in, rescuing the princess and fleeing the "Imperials". Aftewords, Nima would take her "hero" back to the palace where they would have tea with Mr. Fluffy and Mr. Teddy (her stuffed toys). Nima enjoyed playing with her dolls, knitting, sewing, and cooking. But she also enjoyed sparing and would go to the fields and practice as well as while she was playing with her brother. As Chee got older, he would sneak out at night and go to the local cantina and hear stories from some of the Twi'lik smugglers returning home after one of their adventures. Chee got to be good friends with one who gave Chee his first blaster and also gave Nima a practice vibrosword as she wanted to help her brother fight off the "Imps" while playing. Plus she also had a vision that one day, she would have to save her village. Their parents didn't approve of him sneaking out and going to the cantina as they didn't want him associating with criminals and vagabonds and they wanted Chee to take over their farm one day. Nima had a vision about her brother that he would be play a big role in the Republic if he continues with his dream, so she would help cover for him.
Not long after Chee turned of age, the old smuggler whom Chee was friends with, offered him a place on his crew. Chee couldn't pass up this chance despite knowing that his parents would probably disown him. However, Nima gave him her blessing knowing he would go on to do great things and promised to help smooth things with their parents. So Chee left. His parents were furious but Nima calmed them down after telling them about her vision. They knew she was gifted in the Force, but were afraid to lose their little girl to the Jedi. Nima knew too that her place, for the moment, was with her parents, not on Tython.
Things were peaceful for about 3 years after Chee left. Nima would regularly get mail from her brother detailing all his adventures during this time. Things changed forever when one day two bounty hunters arrived looking for Twi'lik slaves to take back to a Hutt client. Their names were Tewdrig and Jiangnu, husband and wife. Nima knew this was the moment of her vision and stood up to the bounty hunters. Her connection to the force and years of training on her own with the vibrosword caught the two bounty hunters by surprise. The fighting was fierce, and the Force being drawn by Tewdrig and Nima was felt all the way to Kala'uun. There a Jedi master felt it and rushed to village. Jiangnu, injured by the fighting yielded, knowing that was the only honorable thing to do and recognized Nima's strength. She also could see the darkness enveloping her husband. This was something that had been happening over time but the dark force was stronger than ever with him and she was frightened by it. By the time the Jedi master arrived, both Nima and Tewdrig were injured by their fighting but Tewdrig would not yield until he saw Nima destroyed. The master leaped in and landed a near fatal blow to Tewdrig. Jiangnu withdrew with Tewdrig, and took him to the nearest Imperial base and left him there, never to see him again as she was pregnant with their son and feared for her and her child's safety after seeing Tewdrig turn Sith. Nima's parents, thankful for Nima's selfless defense of their village and clan, were reluctant to let her leave as the Jedi knew that Nima had a gift with the Force that he had never witnessed before but acknowledged that her place would be with the Jedi. Even during her training, she stayed in regular contact with her parents and with Chee. The captain that Chee left with eventually retired, handing the reigns of the ship over to him. Chee felt bad about not being there to help his sister. But even with her reassurance, he feels he needs to make it up to her and their family by living to their ideals and earning enough credits for their parents to retire to the upper levels of Coruscant and not have to worry about anything again.
While training on Tython, Nima met a very shy, quiet, reserved young girl named Akikonomu, but that is another story :)
