Over the holidays I took some time to decipher the Zakuulan writing introduced with KOTFE and put together a guide to the language. I thought folks might be interested to check it out:
There are two versions of a Zakuulan, a digital style seen on monitors and a rounded style seen on signs and stitched on clothing. I've not found examples of J, Q, X and the number zero, so it's not quite complete, but there is enough here to read any use of Zakuulan in the game.

Thanks! I now know where to direct my Orbital Strikes!
On a slightly more serious note, my guess would be that zero might just be a vertical line? You should post this in that thread on the SWTOR forum you linked. If those people are still playing, I'm sure they would like to see what you've done! And speaking of Scrabble, I can picture a really cool Zakuulan themed set with metallic tiles and such. I'm a bit embarrassed to admit this, but I actually spent a few moments in KotET chapter 6 running back and forth looking at the shine on the metal dividers. I may dislike everything else about that planet, but they sure do have style.

Re: <swtor> Learn to read and write Zakuulan
That's my suspicion as well, but I don't feel confident enough in the guess to put it the primer. The extrapolated letters are no brainers, but I don't want to jump to too many conclusions. The RNG Main Office sign has what I think are numbers underneath, but I have no idea what the junk that symbol with the X in it is. 12 or 14 maybe? It might mean the Zakuul number system is base 5 instead of base 10. I can't even wrap my head around that.Teigra wrote:Thanks! I now know where to direct my Orbital Strikes!

I was surprised that the word "zakuul" doesn't appear in the script font. Between Zildrog, Izax, Nahut and all the other weirdness is out there on Zakuul, there is certainly plenty of fodder to fill out the alphabet. And for operations too. Ahem.

Very cool Int! Any idea why there's no characters for J, Q, X? Maybe there is none? Or there are, and like you said, you haven't found it yet?

I imagine they have symbols for those letters, but they just haven't had a reason to use them in the game. I suppose if Jar Jar and Qui-Gon Jinn attack Zakuul in a X-Wing, we'll know for sure!Valikk wrote:Very cool Int! Any idea why there's no characters for J, Q, X? Maybe there is none?
