Village of Saltmarsh
  • two factions
    -Traditionalists (fishermans- want to split from baldurs gate)
    -loyalists - pro baldurs gate
    -The party has been in town for a few weeks or more and know most of the local important places and people.

    The council
    -Anders Solmor (neutral)
    -Eda Oweland(Traditionalists, oldest person in town) independent
    -Gellan Primewater (traditionalist, richest person in town.)
    -Eliander Fireborn (Loyalist of Baldur's gate)
    -Manistrad Copperlocks (Loyalist, wants to grow connections with other towns)
Anders Solmor, tells the party a body of a woman has washed up on shore two days ago, she was dressed in prisoner guard. She was here a couple weeks ago with her brother, they had talk of exploring the haunted house on the hill.


The party splits into 3 to figure out which taverns the brother and sister had visited.
  • The Empty Net.
    -Quildor, Azineia,
    -bartender tell them of the scary house and the strange lights and sounds. He doesnt recall ever meeting the girl.

    Wicker Goat:
    -Buck, Azineia, Witness
    -nothing of note

    Snapping Line Tavern:
    -Gimnir, Buck, Ward and Finial tip the barkeep for information about the brother and sister.
    -GoldBlades, Prunail GoldBlade and his is sister.
    -they were in telling of the all the gold they plan on getting at the haunted mansion.
(Long Rest)
-As the party starts to head out of town, a procession of towns folk follow them towards the house. The follow for close to a hour, till the house shows its self on top of the cliff. the townsfolk turn and head back as the group continues down the road towards the house.
Outside the Mansion
  • -2 back doors are found
    -near one of the back door is a well, The Witness examined the depth of the well when 2 snakes jumped out striking him and knocking him unconscious.
    -Azineia puts the snakes to sleep, and Quildor kills one. The other is tossed back into the well.
    -the back door is open and rotted off.
    -the party begins to walk into the building, which is weakened and rotted.
    -footprints are made out in the dust.
    -the footprints lead to a trapdoor in the far west room, upon disturbing the the door a frightening voice shouts a terror warning.

Session Number 02
  • Date: Wednesday, Dec 16th
    Players: Ward(Baiz), Quildor(Zelldeb), Witness(Ojike), Finial (Tundrra), Buck(Lasarian), Azineia(Stelmari)
    Dungeon Master: Kermit

Day 2
Haunted House
  • -all but buck, witness and ward succeed the frightful scare of the voice. (disadvantage on all ability checks)
    -down the trap door, a faint light illuminates from the room below.
    -Gimnir takes 10 min to detect magic.
    -Finial checks out acouple near by musty rooms.
    -after 15mins Ward begins to descend down the trapdoor with his shield illumintated by The witness's light spell.
    -a corpse lays on the floor in the middle of the room. Faint moaning comes from the north side of the room.
The Wine Cellar
  • -Ward, Gimnir and Buck examine the body.
    -Ned nateshaft, is tied up in the north corner of the room. and find out he was attacked some where in the house.
    -the body is wearing some plate armor that Ward begins to take off with the help of Gmnir. swarms of rotgrubs crawl out of the body.

    Round 1
    • -Azineia steps up the the maggots and blasts a thunderwave, crushing several of the small parasites.
      -Witness blasts a swarm with sacred flame and Sanctuary
      -Ward stomps on them
      -buck steps away from the nasty bugs and blesses' Gimnir, Finial and Ward
      -Gimnir throws a magic stone at them.
      -Finial smashes a bunch with his maul
      -Quildor disperses the remaining grubs.
      -a secret door to the south slides open revealing a room to the south and two dangerous figures.
    Round 2
    • -Azineia examines the enemy with true strike, noticing a limp on his left a source of weakness.
      -Witness cast sacred flame at one of the approaching bandits.
      -bandit shoots a crossbow
      -Ward runs in striking and collapsing the bandit.
      -Buck casts toll the dead at one of the standing bandits, he turns white with the sound of bells in his head.
      -Gimnir walks in and past one of the bandits dodging a swing.
      -Quildor sounds come from behind the stairs
      -Finial heads towards the direction of sound.
    Round 3
    • -Azineia fairy fire erupts from around the stair case, causing the hiding figure to begin to glow.
      -Witness enters the room and readies an sacred flame
      -bandit the glowing bandit sticks her head out to fire an arrow (misses quildor) and is hit with the sacred flame.
      -Ward charges after the hiding bandit south of the stair case.
      -Buck moves and readies an attack..
      -Gimnir dashes forward to find the hiding bandit
      -Quildor dashes forward to find the hiding bandit
      -Finial crushes her with his maul and hammers his horns throwing the body 10 feet away.
    Ding Level 2

    -Footlockers and bed line the room. Witness investigates for traps and finds none. (7gold 21 silver) 1g3s each
    -Gimnir purifies the ham on the table.
    -Ward and Finial determine there are atleast 10 bandits living here.

    -2 doors one barred the other opens easily.
    -the small bedroom has 3 books, a lantern, a candle stick, flint/tinder.
    -navel almanac, erotic poetry, treaty of umbrlee.
    -hidden compartment under the desk, spell book, 12 candles, a piece of parchment(command words in comman and a equivlant in another language)
    -spellbook (charm person, color spray, magic missile, silent image, magic mouth, scorching ray.)

    -Gimnir gives Ned a light stone to keep him safe.

    -Finial helps Ward remove the wooden bar, the room is dark and a skeleton rises

    Initiative.
    Round 1
    • -Skeltons begin to rise
      -Ward punches it shattering bones and tries to grapple its remains. (shouts back lots of skeletons) as he moves towards the next one.
      -Witness casts protection from evil and good and uses wildshape to form into a star!!!
      -Azineia lights them up with fairy fire and inspires Buck
      -Buck tolls the dead on one of the glowing skeletons.
      -Gimnir steps into room and in a straight line 30' tasha's caustic brew, a stream of acid splash out at them.
      -Quildor misses
      -Finial smashes one to bit with his maul with a rage.
    Round 2
    • -Skeltons hits (finial) misses(quildor, Azineia)
      -A Blue light from behind the wall, shows the outline of a door.
      -Ward swings wide
      -Witness casts guiding light
      -Azineia Vicious Mockery falls flat on the skeleton.
      -Buck moves into the room casting word of radiance on 2 of the skeletons.
      -Gimnir magic stone is thrown at the acid damaged skelly
      -Quildor finishes of the first and final skeleton
      -Finial smashing it with his maul, unsuccessful.
    Round 3
    • -A Blue light from behind the wall, glows brighter and then the wall opens as a door.
      - a "A hunched corpse wearing a pointed hat and dressed in a robe embroidered with mystic symbols crosses through the hidden door. Thin wisps of beard float from its bony jaw. It raises a finger, tracing arcane symbols in the air. In a hoarse voice, it speaks: “Secrets found and lost then found again. Your paltry minds cannot fathom …”
      -Ward swings wide
      -Wizard Skeleton - throws a acid spell towards Finial and misses.
      -Witness - fairy fire erupts around the skeleton and bursts a stary radiant attack at it.
      -Azineia. casts true strike to find a weakness it might have.
      -Buck - word of radiance burst around buck, and then buck moves back.
      -Quildor -steps forward and hits with his sword.
      -Gimnir -magic stone. explodes the skeleton.
      -Finial
Loot
-The skeletons all have one rib that have been dipped in gold. x6(5g )
-satchel bag on the wizard skeleton. (alchemist bag) aka bag of holding.

Day 2- Tarsakh 13
Haunted House Basement Barracks
  • -Ward finds a open secert door behind the crashed bookshelf in the far west corner of the room.
    -The sound of running footfalls can be heard down a cave tunnel.
    -Ward leads the group in pursuit, a voice in the tunnel above "boss those that attacked our me are coming"
    -

    round 1
    • -witness- runs to the front of the line and Ned swipes at his back.
      -sandbalt shoots off a sparkly spell at Ward
      -Ward: steps into the small room with the caster and tries to punch him the face
      -Quildor enters the small room as well swing his shortsword.
      -bandit attacks ward and quildor.
      -a bandit comes running up from a southern room and swings at the Witness.
      -Azineia confronts Ned, with her rapier
      -Finial rages and attacks those approaching from behind.
      -Gimniar takes out Ned.
    round 2
    • -witness- shoot forth a Ray of shooting stars, crumbling his target.
      -Sandbalt -cast magic missiles at (Ward, Quildor, Witness) shadow darts
      -Ward: Punches Sanbalt again and tries to grapple him, pointing out that 3 of their members have fallen, and to give up. (grapple success)
      -Quildor swings at a bandit
      -bandit a slashes at Finial and another attacks quildor.
      -a bandit attempts to run from ward who reaches out with his fist knocking back.
      -Azineia cast vicious mockery doesn't hit home.
      -Finial takes out the bandit in the south tunnel and steps in further listening for more back up, only the sounds of the sea can be heard.
      -Gimniar throw another magic stone and shouts out be sure to leave one alive.
    round 3
    • -witness- helps ward pointing out a weakness in Sanbelts armor.
      -Sandbalt -whispers into ward's ear, as he attempted to charm him.
      -Hobgoblin - figures come around the corner behind Azineia.
      -Ward: secondwind and drags sandbelt back.
      -Quildor swings at the bandits and regroups with ward.
      -Azineia attacks the approaching Hobgoblin, then cast bardic inspiration to quildor.
      Ward asks again who wants go back to town. or die.
      -Finial makes his way to the new hobgoblins
      -Gimniar douses Finial and the 2 hobgoblins with acid
    round 4
    • -witness- ohh i have never seen hobgoblins before? arrow shot, it dies. hmmm not very tough.
      -Sandbalt -charms Ward to be his friend
      -Ward: lets Sandbalt go and tells him to drop to the ground and play dead, and punches the bandit next to him.
      -bandit dodges a grapple from ward and slashes back at him.
      -Quildor attacks sandbar
      -Azineia misses the hobgoblin
      -Finial burnign with acid, crushes the last hobgoblin in frustration and yells for Gimnir.
      -Gimniar heals Fin for 6 and tells him to wipe it off.
      -Sandbar shouts out parlay
    What happen to the brother and sister, Brother died in combat, the sister was captured put on a boat, thats the last we saw of her. we sent her to the Sea ghost, ship.
    -a noble that tells bad jokes, brings us weapons and we smuggle them to the ship out to sea.
    -Sigil on the weapon crates, Ward knows it has the baldurs gate emblem.

    and the eight casks of brandy are worth 10 gp apiece at market,

    scale mail.(magical) off the hobgoblin. (in bag of holding.)
-split party most march back to town with Sanbalt prisoner.
-Fin and Ward take the boat with the cask of ale.

Saltmarsh

    -prisoner is sent to the guards, Andor trusts the jailor Kraddok
    -A sting operation council member?
    -The council members will want to know where the cargo was going
    -Gimnir trades the silk for a pearl, which he uses to cast identify on the scale mail. Mariner's Armor (witness)
    -the stone is identified as a Luck Stone. (ward)
    -pipe of remembrance was on Sanbalt. (giminir)
    -masterfully crafted loaded gaming dice (20 gp).

    • -bartender female human has a uncle, that sells her crabs, good guy, he hasnt shown up in a month and his past due in returning. "old ivan"

    • -Andor recapped the event
      -last shipment came 5days ago, the same night as the big dinner. so he had a alibi
      -the council want to know where the weapons are going and where they came from.
      -stake out the house. and get on the boat
      -406 gold to solve the mystery
      -Jillian pulls us aside for a chat, he believes he is being framed.
      - in 2 days there is a moonless festival, any mask man pretending to me would be there.

level 3 at the end of night.
-Gimnir takes his brother Buck's armor and sword to infuse it with magic in the night.
-Finial prayed to Talos in the night in anger over the twins death.

Saltmarsh Day 3- Tarsakh 14
  • -The Moonless festival is tomorrow night on the docks (near 8).
    -Red Bull given to Finial that Gimnir made.
    -Buck is getting the set of plate reforged.
Crabber's Cove
  • -Hanna's uncle Old Ivan can be seen sitting by a fire.
    -Black Whale? Black Octopus? Black Rain? and Old Ivan rabbles on. (ward and finial konw of these storms)
    -Quildor asks if he needs anything and Ivan perks up, do you have any dead?
    -ghouls and zombies shuffle out of the woods behind his shack
round 1
  • -Buck- dashes
    -skeletons- surround Quildor
    -Finial- dashes
    -witness- Moonbeam
    -ghouls- is hit by the Moonbeam, and moves to hit quildor
    -Gimniar-magic stone is thrown at the ghoul next to Finial.
    -Ward-dash
    -Azineia-fairy fire surrounds quildor and several of the undead.
    -Quildor- attacks the lit up fairy fired ghoul that swiped him.
round 2
  • -Buck- moves between ward and finial and searing smites the ghoul.
    -skeletons-
    -Finial- storm arua forms around Fin and he demolishs a skeleton
    -witness- archer form

    -Ward-punches the skeletons.
    -Azineia-strikes the final skelton with rapier.

-Who is the Master? small cave in the cliff side.

Inside the cave
  • -undead are slowly moving out of a trench within the cave.
    -a glowing glyph is on the bridge, it seems to be slowing the undead.
    -The School of Abjuration
    -Wis save (witness, quildor, finial) Gimniar fails and is asked to free the figure
    -The priest of Umberlee is entrapped the being in the cave.
    -Gimniar wants to see the priest and destroy the phylactery.
    -when we leave the cave the charm fades, but the party still wants to speak to the priest.
-amber rose wine, given as a gift for finding hanna's uncle.

Temple of Umberlee
  • -Wellgar, the priest of Umberlee, remembers every storm.
    -Gimnir retells the tale about Xolec.
    - and has his alcoytics look into it.
    -Finial asks about the black rain, and finds out each time it comes it takes down a ship...Tentacles and black whales are seen when it happens.
Eliander Fireborn's Library
  • -Buck tells Eliander about the nest of undead under the city.
    -council would need to discuss the situation
    -500gold could be the reward.
-7pm
-Ward picked up his new plate and sold off his chainmail.
-redbull loses its effect

Day 4- Tarsakh 15
-Witness and Finial head back to the cave to investigate if it had changed at all.
-5 Guards stand near keeping everyone that comes near, to go away.
-the group is unable to convince them to get any closer.

The Moonless Festival
  • -3gold is charged to finial for a bright yellow wristband
    -Games: Greased Goblins, Boar Riding, Turtle Racing, Dragons and Dinghies
    -Taggart's booth: costume guy
    -A mask man fitting Sandbelts description walks out of Taggarts.
    -Ward tries to ride the boar, again, and again, unsuccessfully.
    -Goblins are caught,

Saltmarsh Day 5- Tarsakh 16

The Moonless Festival
  • -Dragons and Dinghies
    -Finial, Buck, Azineia and Gimnir put in 5g +4 npcs
    -small boats are blown with magical booze of dragon breaths.
    -buck wins with 40gold
    -more than just weapon smuggling, it is heavily impacting the other black market groups.
    -A Enthralling Performance by Azineia

    "The Ode of the Dinghies
    They were covered in ice
    They sank in a trice
    Sticky with goo
    No time for a moo
    They burst into flame
    Their roll was a shame
    They spat on my thingie
    Sunk my wee dinghie"

    -Taggart again tells us of the Manta Ray costume is being made for the Mask gentleman and he will be back in 3 weeks.

Saltmarsh Day 6- Tarsakh 17-20
  • -spending time at the mansion on the cliff, cleaning it out from when the bandits took it.
    -the night of the 20th, lights begin to flash signaling that the ship has arrived.
    -supply;s are brought up and introductions take place, convincing the crew we are new hires.
    -Blood of Yourn
    -Some one on the deck signals back at the house and doesn't get a response.
Ward shucks a guy(blood of yourn) off the boat...initiative
  • -Buck -searing smite
    -Azineia -sleep spell collapses two of them into a heap, and bardic inspires her self giving 3 party members extra hp and extra movment
    -ward throws another off the boat.
    -captain shoots ward with a cross bow.
    -bandits attack
    -Gimnir- Acid potion at Buck and several bandits
    -witness- fairy fire over captan and a couple others.
    -finial- rage and shouts at the captan about the girl that was on his ship.
Round 2
  • -Buck -misses searing smite, and casts spiritual weapon.
    -Azineia -casts thunder pushing bandits all about, one fall off the edge. and bardic inspiration to Buck
    -a caster mistysteps onto the mast and melf's acid arrow towards Gimnir.
    -Ward - attacks the captain.
    -captain attacks finial
    -bandits - attacks (finial, buck) and begin taking acid damage from Gimnirs previous attack.
    -Gimnir- heals buck and throws a handaxe to the bandits below him.
    -witness-Gust of wind to knock the caster off the mast. 25'fall
    -finial-asks again if he was the one that killed the girl and smashes him with the maul

Session Number 06
  • Date: Wednesday, 2021 Jan 13th
    Players: Ward(Baiz), Quildor(Zelldeb), Witness(Ojike), Finial (Tundrra) Absent, Buck(Lasarian), Azineia(Stelmari)
    Dungeon Master: Kermit
Battled raged on the deck for a while. Fireballs were dropped,
but the party earned it's name: Friendly Fire. All but 3 pirates
were dispatched. Those pirates surrendered and even offered their
services to the new captain Ward. The group explored the ship
and freed the captive Oceanus, the sea elf. They also met
3 lizardfolk who seemed to be client of the pirates. They inquired
about the shipment of weapons to their lair, situated at a the
river Dunwater on a prominatory. The group turned the boat
towards Saltmarsh. **Today: Tarsakh 20 - night**

  • -The Seaghost docks in Saltmarsh and asks for the council to see them as soon as possible.
    -The party takes a long rest on the ship
Tasakh 21

Council Meeting
  • -10am council meets the party, the council is missing two, Maferan and the old local.
    -Dunwater is the lizardfolk destination, The council is concerned why they are gathering weapons, who are they going to attack? or defend? or hunt?
    -illiandar says he speaks draconic and will join them for interviewing the lizardborn.
    -406gp rewards split between party. 72gp ea for selling goods to town 58gp ea for quest turn in (130gp total each)

Sea Cave
  • -10miles north of Saltmarsh we set sail
    -The party take a row boat with the lizardmen into a large sea cave.
    -Sauriv Minsiter Lizardfolk invites us into his hut to talk more privately as we ask questions a new supplier of goods.
    -we dont trust outsiders, we will need to talk to the queen, Sahuagins have attacked and ran them out of their homes, this is a old outpost we have rebuilt and want to take their kingdom back.
    -To trust us and show your strength, we need you to take care of a Giant Crocodile. it is a sacred beast to our people and we can not harm it directly, however "1000 teeth" is attacking our patrols more often and has become a problem. Bring us his head.

  • Date: Wednesday, 2021 Jan27th

Dunwater Marsh Tasakh 21
  • -Quildor leads us further into the marsh in the direction the Treant gave us, 3hrs go by till we hear the sound of a large mass moving.
    -A foul smell fills our noses and we see a large figure eating something in a small pool. We believe this the area the crocodile should be so we send
    -Quildor ahead to investigate what the orge is eating, as he makes his way around the pond, a large snake drop from the tree tops on top of him.
Initiative
  • -ward surprised
    -snake grapples Quildor
    -Orge drops its meal to find something more appealing...US
    -Gimnir casts grease, but the Ogre keeps it balance.
    -azineia casts hideous laughter (fail)
    -quildor he breaks free of the grapple and trys to run away

  • -ward - moved closer
    -snake -bites final
    -Orge -swings at finial and falls from the grease
    -Gimnir -throws a rock
    -azineia -Thunder wave explodes in front of Finial hitting the snake and Orge
    -quildor- heads back to the snake slicing tips of its tail off.
    -croc -A loud roar of the croc rips out of the water and lunges at the Ogre
    -witness- fairy fire , archer form and fires at snake.
    -buck-toll the dead and spirit weapon and the snake is defeated
    -finial -charges the croc with his maul and horns.
    -croc - retaliates and misses
round 3
  • -ward - moved closer and grapples the croc on its back.
    -Gimnir -healed finial and threw a stone.
    -azineia -phantasmal force, failed and invokes legendary resistance.
    -quildor- charges the croc and swings.
    -croc -acid spitting croc hits 3 members (15/7), a hellish rebuke is Azineia's response
    -witness- moves up, shots a archer beam and guilding bolt
    -croc turns to swim back into the swamp and is crushed as it turns.
-heals on Azinia, Finial and Quildor

Loot
  • -Head is recovered, hide
    -inside its belly is a pearl and a pouch had 5 stones.
    -pearl of power to witness
    -trident of lightening to finial
    -potion of water breathing
-2hrs back towards the treant camp.
-2hrs back to the lizard folk village.

Long Rest
-1st watch -gimnir and buck uneventful
-2nd watch - ward and finial and witness, the sounds battle
-The guard outside the door is dead, body line the hall, we track our way back to the throne room where combat ensues as the queen is being attacked by shaugains and a sea elf.

    -finial misses with his maul

  • -Azineia attacks with her rapier
    -Gminir throws pebble at caster and speaks to the queen " do you wish for us to chase the elf? we have your croc head"
    -quildor, is held still.
    - lizardfok "stop everyone, the elf, you ...i dont trust any of you"

    -ward -ward stops
    -buck -runs after the elf and guilding bolt caster.
    -sea elf -unknown
    -witness -
    -lizardman comes in with the sea elf.
-Oceanus says that some sea elves can look like shaugins, he must have freed the prisoners.
-she needs to think on things
-the queen says we should return to our rooms not as prisoners but the room will be locked and guarded.

Downtime Tasakh 22- Mirtul 5th
  • Finial - DT: Fishing for 90 gold, one more mission and my debt will be cleared. Find the box on the ship of "Emperor of the Waves"

    Witness - DT: Research Aberrations, the druid outside of town is worried about the "City of STyes" vibe of unnatural and otherworldly is causing it to go into termoraul.

    Ward - DT: Sailing, Learned to sail a Keelboat and Longship

    Azineia - DT: Performing, trying to lure Keledek the Unspoken out into the open. Since disturbing Zoltec(vamp prisoner), a contact at crabber cove has lost contact. old ivan is not young ivan.

    Buck - DT: Getting a clerical job. (Earned a favor from Mordin) ... the Mine and Council member Manistrad Copperlocks drank Ambrose Wine which was poisoned. Gellan Primewater was arrested for it, and later drank the wine himself and died. ....The mines have gone quite.
Sailing Ship "Soul of Winter"
-Captain Wolgar Windrune and 30 dwarves crew
-6day trip
-1st day is foggy but uneventful
-2nd day a infestation of rats break out on the ship.
-day 3: nothing
-day 4: nothing
-day 5: foggy but uneventful
-day 6: spotted dark clouds in the distance, below it the "emperor of the waves" 500ft away.

The ship is suffering heavy damage, rides low to the water, flooding, we don't see any signs of life. not just storm related damage but possibly attacked.
-a small rowboat is set out and the party set to row out to the abandon ship.
-Ship is empty and the search for the chest begins.
-the Door to the north leads to a cobwebs and big spider.

Room to the south
-staircase down into the ship
-found a captain's log, ...big storm threw them off course, ran out of food and water, attacked by orcs on a uncharted island.
-bag of 10 rubies (100g each) with a small alter to Lloth.

lower decks are in darkness, The witness casts light on himself and Azineia casts Dancing Lights.

Galley
-a ladder continues down. a door locked with a spike leads north.
-The spike is pulled out and a room with a circle of blood and 2 body bundles hang from the ceiling crawling with spiders. Finial sticks only his head in to for sign of the chest and finds a orc waiting for him, alerted by the sound of the spike being removed.
-orc look like a cultist of Lloth.
-battle ensues.
-spiders phase in
