Re: Dragon Flight Raid - Lets talk strategy
I rewrote the strategy we have been using at the top of this post, as new DragonFlight Raiders join us we can send them here for what to expect. Please correct me if Any thing is wrong. I also started a similar Tiamat post.

Re: Dragon Flight Raid - Lets talk strategy
Last night, our first organized DF in a long time went really smoothly despite not getting 3 dragons 3 times.
On the fights themselves, my thoughts below
What went awesomely:
1) Lots of people on! That is always fun to see.
2) Lots of people on TeamSpeak. I don't personally hang out on TS, but it's really useful for coordinating large group fights.
3) Working efficiently -- a) having and ringing the bells on time, b) groups forming up ~10 min before the fight, c) directions from only Ziek and Tyr vs half a dozen people
4) Despite the problems described below, we almost beat 3 dragons three times. I believe we are close to three teams on three dragons with no running around, though I think the running around is exciting.
The fights:
The first time, black didn't die because one of the players we left behind disconnected mid-fight. That cannot be prevented.
The second time, we changed who was on black, and all three went down with 1 second to spare at black. Too close for comfort to my mind.
Third time, we only got 2, black did not go down in time said the game, even though we saw him stone cold dead with our own eyes.
Some people had left party for RL etc., Personnel had changed: we lost a 3rd tank to buff ITF and some dps.
In this case, I believe the solution would have been to have resumed hacking at black earlier; however--
--we had very little time to adjust to changes in personnel (It was getting late, so we need to move quickly, and it was hard to hold all the details together)
--the green dragon had a lot of red under him making it difficult for melee to attack. It is possible the empowerers were staying up longer than usual. Around 30%? something happened, and green started dying fast (perhaps someone arrived from red? not sure)
--there were many reports of lag at the green dragon but also elsewhere. For myself, at green, I was in single digit frame rates, shielding and hoping I was not in red when I dropped my shield to fire off encounters.
Going forward:
1) Should we plan to do 2 runs back to back? If we plan ahead, people can empty inventories early and run to/remain where they need to be for the next fight.
2) Our strategists are learning how fast dragons with go down depending on which guild members are playing. With TS and guild chat, they can call the fight timing more aptly.
3) Perhaps our resident computer people could give recommendations on game settings to reduce lag particularly at green.
4) Guild officers can discuss how to buy bells so they are always available at the time of DF. If bells can be stored in the guild officers tab in the guild bank that may also be something to consider.
[In the interest of self-disclosure, I appreciate and am pushing for efficiency because these are right around my bed time. Too much dillydally and I need to go to bed. ]

Re: Dragon Flight Raid - Lets talk strategy
Some excellent points Blue!
I only left myself with the normal 2 dragon runs; I can do 3 but need advance warning:p
Bells in the officer bank are a great spot, in case Phel isn't online.
