Session 35

(Day 42, 12:40a Chult)

Sewn Sisters
  • -Hags phased into the party’s reality surrounding Zidlur in the middle of the room.
    -Zaan quickly phases right after them casting silence in the area of the hags.
    -Jilto attempts to trap them in his Watery sphere, but they seem resistant to his magic and sends in the Slaad.
    -Unable to speak to one another the coven fades back to the border ethereal plane while the group readies for their return.
    -As they came back the group lit them up with bolts, arrows and missiles.
    -In infernal the witches communicate to each other that they discovered that all of the adventurers are carrying keys to the gate, so they coordinate on the little one.
    -One of the hags eyebite’s Zidlur, putting him asleep as another runs up to pick him up preparing to phase him to the ethereal plane.
    -Jilto’s fast thinking slams the watery sphere into them pulling and awakening Zidlur from his slumber as he gets sucked into the sphere.
    -Lisa breaks the hags concentration on the eyebite preventing additional unexpected sleepiness.
    -In retaliation a hold person spell is casted Lisa’s way for a short period before Zaan is able to interrupt it.
    -Eventually a hag went down, as the others were trapped in the watery sphere.
    -When the hags lost their coven member and their advantage was lost they spoke in common with an attempt to make a deal.
    -Teagan successfully grappled one that was being restrained in the sphere.
    -However Zaan and Zidlur didn’t wait around to see what they had to say.
    -The room was barricaded as the party decides to hunker down for a long rest.
    -The bodies are looked over and they retrieve the hags heartstones , soul bags And 5 small black marbles were retrieved with an aura of conjuration emitting from them.
    -The dolls tell you they are used in some way to leave the tomb, but they do not know how.
(Long Rest) Day 43 begins, 3rd day in Tomb

The Soulmonger
  • -During the night Zaan pulls out the journal he looted from Withers earlier that morning and learns about the history of the tomb and its inhabitants.
    -It also talks about Acererak’s purpose for the soulmonger and his baby death god that nourishes on the trapped souls of the world.
    -With the fear that not only does the party need to deal with the soulmonger but with this atropol as well on the other side of the door, Zaan decides gives his Amulet to Zidlur to help with his casting abilities.
    -Jilto disguises the group as the hags and dolls to buy them some time as they open the skeleton gate.
    -The gate reveals a 10-foot-wide, 20-foot-long staircase of polished black marble that descends to a large room with Crumbling balconies overlooking a pool of lava filling this triangular chamber, above which is suspended an enormous crystal cylinder held in place by three adamantine struts. Wraithlike forms swirl inside the cylinder, and otherworldly screams hang in the air. Four long, writhing tentacles sprout from the cylinder’s cap. A shriveled monstrosity the size of an elephant floats near the cylinder. Its body is wet and malformed, its arms and legs are atrophied, and its oversized head drips black goo. The creature is attached to the cylinder by a twisted umbilical cord.
    -Teagan quickly casts Waterwalk for any poor soul that might fall into the lava.
    -The spirits speak to their hosts, Moa urging Teagan to free the trapped souls, Nangnang advising Zaan of the treasures that could be hidden in the bone filled alcoves and Papazotl recommending to Jilto to use radiant damage on the evil deity.
    -Zaan searches alcoves, while Zidlur looks for ways of breaking one of the struts or the stone it’s attached to, and Lisa believes piercing the crystal glass of the soulmonger would be enough to destroy the device.
    -Lisa lifts her enchanted heavy crossbow and fires!
Day 43 begins, 3rd morning in the Tomb

The Star Goddess
  • -You appear outside the tomb entrance as you step out of the black Obelisk, the day is beautiful. It has felt like a very long time since seeing the light of the sky and the fresh air.

    -The spirits of the Gods speak to its inhabitants a word of thanks “thank you I leave you my vessel for your deeds for releasing me” and you feel their presence leave and their souls swirl and vanish in front of you.

    -The gods that were not inhabiting you, their essence swirl along with the others however their vessels crumble to dust as they leave its.

    -You look up to see the stone gargoyles looking down at you from above the false entrances, and past them above on the cliffs edge more of the silent guardians look down around the gorge.

    -A dark spot briefly covers the sun and as you look up and your eyes adjust against the silhouetted form moving past the blazing sun a familiar shape circles the valley. The skyship you had previously seen crash in the jungle and the crew you rescued managed to piece the ship back into a patchwork mess.

    -A fire bolt bursts from Jilto's hand into the sky, signals the vessel.

    -You see the figures in the ship bundled in blankets and pelts to keep warm in the frost and ice covered ship, while the sun's heat beats noticeably down on you. Familiar figures catch your eye as the Skyship get closer. Artus and Dragonbait greet you with the survivors of the Sky Goddess.

    -The crew is excited to see their rescuers alive. Artus has frozen the crew's patchworked hull together mixed with their temporary bindings of vines and patches. The crewmen Falx and Nhar approach and says the ship will hold if the altitude is high enough and the temperature stays cold, but it will take considerable repair at a major port and without a living Capitan and owner of the ship we will need to find a benefactor willing to pay.

    -Artus and Dragonbait have a reunion with RasNsi and insist they must stay to see their quest complete. With the adventurers quest now completed, injured and ready to get out of the bloody jungles decide to part ways. Joining the crew of the Halruaanian Star goddess to a port you recommend and know well, Waterdeep.
The Masked Lord
  • -The skyship melts buckets of water continuely for many days. The crew nervously awaits in frigid temperatures high in the sky till eventually the mountain of Waterdeep approaches on the horizon. A griffin escort flanks the ship and leads you to a safe landing area.

    -The mansion of Syndra Silvane has enormously increased its supply of guards. As your party approaches and escorted to the door where you are greeted by a familiar face, the head butler of the house. “the lord is expecting you, follow me please”

    -Inside even more guards roam the halls of the mansion.
    You learn from the butler that...
    • -The master started feeling better and knew you must have succeeded.
      -However while in her weaken state her opponents tried to make a move against her, so we have had to increase security.
      -You make your way to a much larger sitting room than the study you had previously been to.

    -With mask off Syndra greets you all, Looking at Lisa “Twice now you have done a great service to me and I thank you. I owe you a great deal, please except this token.” And from the next room a greatly missed face appears, Lisa’s father steps into the room, wearing formal pristine city watch uniform. He steps up to Lisa and pins a “Honorary Badge of the Watch” emblem to her travel ridden clothes and braces her with a hug.

    Syndra puts on her Mask and her appearance alters, she seems a little taller her voice becomes a little deeper and genderless, and the awe of a true Masked Lord of Waterdeep stands before the rest of you.

    You all have proven yourself as well in ending the death curse and with the power of a Lord I have contacted the leaders of your various organizations to let them know of your contributions.

    Teagan
    -The priests at the temple of Kelemvor wish to speak to you as soon as your able to.
    -at the temple the high priests have spread the word of your deeds and have assured you if an accident were to ever befall you the order would do all they can to bring you back once again to spread the will of Kelevmore (one free Resurrection if your body is brought to a priest or temple of Kelevmore.)

    Jilto
    -The Blackstaff tower as made arrangements for your further studies with any help you may need to accomplish them.
    -At the tower you receive (three dusty spell scrolls (create undead, fabricate, and resurrection), and 4 spellbooks. The first spellbook contain 1d6 spells each of 1st through 3rd level. The second and third spellbooks contain 1d4 spells each of 4th through 6th level. The fourth spellbook has a title (X the Mystic’s Arcane Grimoire) burned into its spine and contains 1d3 spells each of 7th through 9th level.

    Zaan
    -You have proven your expertise’s in acquiring objects hidden away in dangerous places to me and because of that, your reputation will be shared to those of power and wealth here in Waterdeep with the Lords highest praise. So expect worthy jobs of your talent to come soon.

    Zidlur
    -I’m afraid we haven’t heard much about you, you have hidden your tracks well here in Waterdeep, not even my contacts in Skullport could tell us anything. A stealthy one of that nature has its uses to me.

    “Please accept these gifts as thanks.”

    Double doors open from behind, ten Servants enter the room, five carrying a medium ornate chests the other 5 carry small collapsable stands. The portable table is placed in front of each of you with the chest set on top. You each open the chest and they include:
    • -100 platinum
      -3000 gold pieces
      -10 Spinel gemstones (100gold) each
    -Afterwards Zidlur nudges Jilto with hand out and is passed 50 owed gold.
Vamir Vengolor and Loch
  • “There is a Merchant here in the city that the Lords and a few other wealthy organizations use privately. He can provide hard to find and rare items of quite some value. He has agreed to meet with you all for a showing of his current wares and He is interested in buying and of course selling items of Magic.”

    (Zaan being in the relic business this is someone you have been wanting a meet and greet for quite some time)

    “I have arranged for Vamir Vengolor to make his appearance after you have had time to rest from your journey.”

    Sometime later....

    A thin well dressed elf enters the room, closely behind him a large Half Orc overshadows him. He introduces himself as Vamir and his assistant Loch.

    With a flick of his wrist a medium seam in reality opens up (Demiplane 8th Wiz/Warlock) big enough for a doorway he. He steps aside and the large half orc steps forward and ducts into the portal. a moment later he carries out a long heavy grey box, straining lowers it to the floor, again and again he does this till 6 boxes are placed in a semi circle around the elf.

    The elf crouches down in front of the first one and softly mouths a word, and the latch unlocks and opens, one by one till all are open displaying the most beautiful items.

Post game discussion:

Be sure to update your dndbeyond character with your updated loot and stats from roll20. This way I can save some copies of the characters when we decide to come back to them in the future.

The new vendor was randomally generated and will randomally switch out items before the next adventure.

Once your beyond characters is all set we can discuss selling items and buying the above items.
(Send me a Discord Message with a list of items you want to sell and I will get you a total, based on your Charisma)

Also before the next adventure there will be some downtime activities once we decide on characters and adventure.
