A member mentioned this upcoming game and were fans of the solo editions. It look like it would be fun and light, and I have been happy with the perfect world setup.

Lets see what kind of interest we get:)

I am very excited to see this game release. Would love to see NOR find a home there if the game turns out as good as it seems.

Torchlight 1 is solo. About 33 hours if you go at it leisurely.

Torchlight 2 is 4 player co-op. It even has LAN play.

I've been keeping an eye on this one as well. Looking forward to more progress notes and updates on it, hopefully release isn't too far away.

This is a bit old news but they did discuss how they will charge. The good news is it will be free 2 play but the bad news is they seem to hint they want to sell endgame items in their market store as a "skip farming" incentive. How grindy that farm is will determine whether this is a problem or not.

I personally like that it is F2P as it gives no barrier to trying the game and I have played cash shop games that had an extremely fair and balanced pricing system and farming system. Warframe comes to mind.

Over the weekend Rabbit and I both got in to Torchlight Frontiers.

I want to start by saying the artwork and the gameplay was great. Overall it was a good experience and I look forward to it advancing further.

The big glaring issue I see is a lack of meaningful respec. Not implemented yet but the current plan is an item (cash shop? In game currency? Random drop farm?) that lets you delete 1 skill point. The issue I have is you do not then get to reassign that point. It is gone. You have to farm a level to get it back. With 100 skill points total that could be very obnoxious to respec your character.

This is my only real gripe though. Otherwise I loved the game. Current classes are fun and different from each other. Loot drops at a good pace. From what I have been told and read from people who got in before me they have made noticeable improvements.

I obviously encountered some bugs but given it is in alpha I expect that. My tune will change if those bugs persist to release.

RIP Torchlight Frontiers.

Game has been renamed Torchlight 3 and will be releasing on steam. No longer will be a free to play. Not a lot of info known yet but it looks like the game this was to be is no more.

As a fan of torchlight 2 I am still looking forward to what they produce in the end.

Torchlight 3 has officially hit early access on Steam for $30.

Devs have confirmed there will be a server wipe at the end of early access but the cost of the game will also go up. Early access purchasers will retain their copy.

Another update. Full release version 1.0 is October 13th! The 1.0 version is being pushed to the early access players October 6th. As per the devs the 6th is the last server wipe so early access players can start playing the game in full next week.
