From the short video there is some new looking enemies and zones. It looks like they may have put some effort in to some truly new content. I am tentatively excited about that prospect. The biggest thing to note is a level cap increase. The new level cap will be 80. While this has been a long time coming and would be a great opportunity for a second class overhaul they have a bad history with level increases. Elemental Evil was the last time and it was arguably the worst mod ever released in this game. I would even say original EE was worse than Storm King Thunder.
All that said, the level increase usually means current gear falls out of useful and is replaced by new gear at the level cap. If you are working on gearing up a character right now it may be best to save your resources for the mod to drop. I suspect very little outside of companions, mounts and enchantments will carry forward. I believe last time around most enchantments and such just got a new rank to upgrade too. Hard to say what will happen this time around.
*They posted a bunch if devblogs. Changes are going to be very drastic. Strongly recommend saving all resources until after mod as almost every aspect of how characters are built is changing.

Thanks for the info Sir!
Look like this falls in line with the tabletop module that launched a couple months ago, the “Mad Mage” under waterdeep. It’s a megaDungeon of critters.

Actually there's going to be a complete overhaul of classes and the gear system (as well as stats) with the new expansion.

Boons will probably also carry forward - I don't think they've ever nerfed those other than obsolescence by power creep. Now is a great time to earn out any campaigns you want.

Update to Boons - https://www.arcgames.com/en/games/never ... s-to-boons
And it does actually look like they're "nerfing" boons a bit by limiting how many you can have, especially at the top end.

Re: Undermountain Announced
It looks like you get the same amount of boons. You can just allocate them more freely. I like the idea of the first boon in a campaign just giving me a boon point rather than a specific boon. I think for people who already have every boon unlocked, this will be very nice. I think for new players just starting boons, this will hold them back longer as they won't be able to get high level boons early that make other zones easier.
That tier 4 is a bit sketchy though. I guess it depends on what is actually available there. Not overly concerned about it as long as I get as many boons as I previously unlocked.
What DOES concern me is they have now confirmed what we all suspected which is changes they have yet to tell us. Historically, the things they don't tell everyone till later end up being the really bad news.

...where has the uncertainty come from? They flat out tell us in the previous dev blogs that they haven't told us everything yet.Ziek88 wrote:What DOES concern me is they have now confirmed what we all suspected which is changes they have yet to tell us. It had seemed to me they were referring to finer details on the topics they presented us with. I realize that was wishful thinking. Still mostly cool with everything they have announced thus far. Friday will be an informative day.
