    Sofija Goliath Barbarian
*Destroyer sat in with us*

We rejoin our heroes as they continue their exploration of the chamber. We find an elevator and not that an entrance is 15 feet up. The elevator is operated by a pully system. Sho-ku operates the pully and we ascend up to the entrance. We use a rope to haul D’Jango up.

We enter the room and see 4 alabaster statues of scholars. Curled up in the tower we see a blue dragon asleep on a pile of treasure. Jorp and Sofija try to sneak in but Sofija hits a loose stone with her boot. The dragon stirs but remains asleep. The rest of the group take positions behind the statue. Upon further inspection, D’Jango notes that the statues appear to have a groove at the bottom of their bases, suggesting that they can turn. In the middle of the room there is a star map inlaid in the floor. Each statue is pointing in a different direction.

D’Jango wakes Sparkrender and we role for initiative! Sparkrender wakes with a roar and casts lightning bolt at Sofija but Jorp blocks it so her damage was only 1 point. EdU casts Ray of Frost but it goes wide, harmlessly hitting one of the loose stones. Jorp then steps up and swipes at Sparkrender, swinging wide and missing him. Sho-ku attacks, completely missing the blue dragon. D’Jango casts Ray of Sickness, hitting Sparkrender but failing to poison him. Fiadh casts Vicious Mockery but it does nothing but cause the dragon to give her a cold stare. Sofija swings her Warhammer, causing 4 points of damage. The dragon roars “Get Out! I tire of this game!” Jorp, with the aid of Fiadh’s Bardic Inspiration, hits the Dragon with Holy Light. Jorp than uses Channel Divinity, giving temporary hit points to Sho-ku. Sho-ku hits Sparkrender with his Quarterstaff for 7 and attempts to hit with Unarmed Strike but Sparkrender moves away. D’Jango casts Ray of Sickness again, this time Sparkrender is poisoned. Fiadh moves from behind the statue and casts Bane and falls back behind the statue. Sofija does Reckless Attack, hitting Sparkrender for 7 points of damage, causing Sparkrender to shriek in pain. Sparkrender disengages and tries to escape, saying “The work is too important for the likes of you!” EdU then rally's and casts Ray of Frost one more time. Sparkrender freezes solid and crashes to the floor where it explodes into a million pieces.

The group cheers and begins to gather up the treasures. D’Jango studies the Star Map.

We find:

4500 CP, 2200 SP and 130 GP

5 pale blue quartz crystal worth 10 gp each

5 blue jasper stones worth 50 gp each

A water proof leather case containing a fan encrusted with powdered blue gems worth 25 gp

A crude flute with a pleasing sound

An hourglass fiilled with sparkling sand

A set of 7 candlesticks

The group join D’Jango and study the floor. We determine that if we move the statues to face the southeast it will open a passage leading to Airedon. We move the statues along it’s grooves and a half crescent staircase reveals itself in the middle of the floor. Stale air comes up from the hole, we smell parchments. We descend the staircase.

The walls are lined with parchments. In the corner, resting on a broken table is a small bronze dragon who is hurt. Sho-ku heals its wounds. Airedon opens it’s eyes and tells Sho-ku “Thank you. Who are you?” Airedon looks at the adventurers as D’Jango explains that Reynera sent us to find him. D’Jango tells him “We got lucky with your captor. He is dead now. Airedon wearily closes his eyes and nods, telling him that they were trying to raise a red dragon from the sea and that if they had succeeded, it would have rained destruction on the coast. He continues on, adding that he had been down there for days and was very weak. He then nodded and indicated that there was a scroll and a nice-looking Warhammer with an inscription in Draconic meaning “Eldenemir.” Eldenemir was the name of the dragon that had been fought hundreds of years before. D’Jango notices that the scroll is one of Hold Person. EdU gets the scroll to inscribe into his spellbook. D’Jango casts detect magic and the Warhammer glows blue and appears to be the only thing that glows. D’Jango attempts to ID the Warhammer; it adds +1 to all relevant areas. After a short discussion, it is decided that Sofija receive the Warhammer.

Jorp, noticing that Airedon still looked pretty weak, lays his hands upon Airedon, healing him for and additional 4 points. The group carries Airedon up the stairs and they return to Dragon’s Rest.

The group find Reynera at the temple. D’Jango explains that Sparkrender is dead and that we have returned with Airedon. Reyera hugs the dragon, tears of joy in her eyes. Reynera then thanks the group for returning her friend safe and sound. She then gives the group a pearl worth 100 gold as well as a potion of Giant Strength as a reward. She also offers free use of the library. She explains that she feels as if a great danger has passed over us. She also explains that a comet will pass over and is called the King Killer Star; it controls the destiny of the dragons.

Our hearty adventurers retire to the tavern. The kobolds bring out some Bronze Draconic ale which is infused with coconut and pineapple and it smells like the sea. They also bring out some Denura Golden Ale which is a light beer with a moderately hoppy finish and a crisp mouthful with the smallest notes of hickory and raspberry. The ale is simple enough to be enjoyed casually.

Varnouth approaches the group with a proposition. Shes says that an old friend wrote to her saying that they could use some help. She goes on to say that if we were interested that she could arrange a meeting. D’Jango asks what the nature of the request is and she hands him the letter (see handout.)

Shortly after that, Reynera approaches Jorp and Sho-Ku that if they would agree to stay, she much knowledge what she would be willing to share with them. After much soul searching, they both decide to stay with her and continue their quest for knowledge.

The tight group spend the next week resting and getting ready for their upcoming journey. As a going away gift, Jorp gives D’Jango the Boots of Elvenkind.

The group is now level 4!
